The west side of Paxos is consisted by a rocky biome, full of beautiful caves. These naturally formed caves are a great scenery to visit, since plenty of them are very big, making it easy to go in with a boat. Most worth visiting is the cave of Ypapanti, a place where the Greek submarine Papanikolis used to hide at WW2. Rumor has it that this cave has a secret passage to the church Ypapanti, where the crew used to exit the submarine.
